As the entire world is going through a rigorous phase of change in almost all elements of daily life due to COVID 19, smooth continuity of such elements is being much highlighted upon. Education is one such element that cannot be held at a standstill, given the fact that it is one of the most important aspects of one’s life. Royal Institute of Colombo (RIC), as the pioneer in private higher education in Sri Lanka, has been much responsible in this regard. Since the very beginning of the lockdown back in March, RIC has been conducting online lectures for all its degree programmes offered by the University of London and Deakin University Australia. The quality of education has been maintained at a very high level as always, together with individual attention when conducting lectures online. Being included among the top five globally recognized teaching institutions offering EMFSS programmes of the University of London, RIC has not halted academic operations for a single day during the lockdown.
Furthermore, RIC has also been conducting a series of webinars, with the participation of experts in international education. Defining New Norms in Education, Challenges Faced in the Legal Profession in Sri Lanka post COVID 19, Implications of COVID 19 on the Sri Lankan Economy, and Professional Ethics and Responsibilities of the Legal Profession in Sri Lanka were among the key topics covered in this series of webinars.

The first RIC Virtual Open Day of the University of London provided greater insights to students hoping to begin Economics, Management, Finance and Social Sciences (EMFSS) programmes.
The next one of the series is scheduled for the 8th of August 2020 and will be emphasizing upon the importance of studying Law within the current context.
