The inaugural ‘RIC Law Journal 2020’ was ceremonially launched on 06 March 2021 at the newly built Auditorium at the Royal Institute of Colombo.
The ceremony was presided over by the President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, President’s Counsel, Mr Kalinga Indatissa, and attended by the Senior Review Committee consisting of many imminent legal professionals in the country; law students at RIC and across the country, who authored articles for the journal; the management and the academic staff of RIC and the members of the Law Students’ Association of RIC (LSARIC).
Representing the Senior Review committee former Additional Solicitor General, President’s Counsel, Mr. Wasantha Navaratne Bandara, President’s Counsel, Mr. Seevali Amithirigala, former Human Rights Commissioner, Dr. Prathiba Mahanamahewa and Mr. Lakdev Unamboowe were present at the ceremony.
The other members of the Senior Review committee are, President’s Counsel, Mr. Maura Gunawansa, President’s Counsel, Mr. Nalinda Indatissa, Dr. Sampath Punchihewa, Dr. Darshana Sumanadasa, Dr. Thakshila Udayanganie, Dr. Darskhika Pathirana, Mr. Shanaka Amarasinghe, Mrs. Jerusha Thambiah, Mr. Amila Siriwardena, Mr. Mahela Liyanage, Mrs. Anushka Gunawardena and Mr. Harpadeep Singh all the way from HongKong.
RIC Law Journal 2020 was an entirely student run law journal published by the Law Students’ Association of Royal Institute of Colombo (LSARIC). The Editorial Committee consisted of the Editor in Chief – Minul Muhandiramge, Deputy Chief Editor – Thiranya Abeyaratne and the committee members, Abinesha Rajaratnam, Daariya Azim, Dihanie Amerasinghe, Dylan Wijesurya, Kaveen Saparamadu, Kavinka Fernando, Kivindi de Alwis, Lalinka de Silva, Rihini Jayasuriya, Sakya Pieris, Talal Fauz, Tashyana Quyn, Tiffahny Hoole, Yalinda de Almeida and Yasara Kodagoda.
