The Law Students’ Association (LSARIC) serves as the central body for the development of the law student community in Royal Institute Campus, actively fostering advocacy, research, and professional skills.

LSARIC represents RIC in competitive moot court, arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and debating competitions, earning numerous awards and titles both locally and internationally. Debating activities are further strengthened through LSARIC’s organisation of flagship tournaments such as the Inter-School Debating Championship (ISDC) and the Inter-University Debating Championship (IUDC), alongside the Royal Institute Campus Moot Competition (RICMC), which provides a premier platform for aspiring advocates to engage in high-level legal argumentation.

Beyond competitions, LSARIC is committed to continuous professional development through initiatives such as the Mediation Clinic and other training programmes designed to enhance practical legal skills. The association also extends its engagement through initiatives such as the Justice Run 2026, organized in support of legal aid in Sri Lanka, reflecting its commitment to promoting access to justice and serving the wider community. In addition, the association publishes the island’s first student-run Law Journal, featuring contributions from leading legal professionals, lecturers, and students, further enriching the academic and professional discourse within the legal community at RIC.
