For over a decade, Royal Institute Campus (RIC) has been proud to partner with the University of London and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to provide Sri Lankan students with access to internationally recognized degrees and academic excellence without leaving the country.
Recently, prospective students, applicants, and current students had the opportunity to participate in the LSE Global Programmes webinar, “Spotlight on Management: Exploring your BSc Options with LSE Global Programmes.” The session provided valuable insights into the Management-related degrees available through the University of London academic direction by LSE, including BSc Business and Management, BSc Economics and Management, and BSc Management and Digital Innovation.
The webinar was led by Dr. Jörn Rothe, Associate Professor of Management at LSE and Academic Coordinator for the University of London Management programmes. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the academic pathways available, emerging developments within the programmes, and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence and digital innovation within management education.

Academic Excellence Backed by LSE

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading institutions for the social sciences. During the webinar, several achievements of LSE were highlighted, reflecting the strength and global reputation of the institution.

According to recent international rankings, LSE is ranked:

#1 University in the UK (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 & 2026)
#3 in Europe for Social Sciences and Management (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025)
#6 Globally for Law (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025)
The institution’s influence extends well beyond academia. LSE has been associated with:
• 21 Nobel Prize Winners
• 40 World Leaders who have studied or taught at LSE

These achievements demonstrate the global impact of an institution that continues to shape public policy, business, economics, law, and international affairs worldwide.

A Truly Global Network

One of the most striking insights shared during the webinar was the scale and selectivity of the LSE Global Programmes network.
The University of London’s LSE Global Programmes are supported through a network of just:

• 32 Teaching Centre Partners
• Across 27 Countries
• Spanning 4 Continents

Considering there are approximately 195 countries in the world, fewer than 14% of countries host a Teaching Centre Partner within this network, highlighting the select nature of institutions chosen to support these programmes.

As one of these recognized teaching institutions, RIC plays an important role in bringing this globally respected educational opportunity to students in Sri Lanka.

Preparing Students for the Future

The webinar also introduced participants to upcoming developments within the Management portfolio, including the planned introduction of BSc Management with Digital Technologies from the 2027/28 academic year. The programme reflects the increasing importance of technology, data, and artificial intelligence in business decision-making and organizational leadership.

This aligns closely with RIC’s commitment to preparing students for an evolving global economy through industry engagement, technology-focused initiatives, and internationally benchmarked education.

The Value of Studying at RIC

While students graduate with a University of London degree under the academic direction of LSE, studying at RIC provides additional benefits including personalized academic support, experienced lecturers, small class sizes, career development opportunities, student societies, and access to a vibrant academic community.

The partnership between RIC, the University of London, and LSE continues to provide students with an opportunity to gain a globally recognized qualification while studying locally, combining international academic standards with a supportive learning environment in Sri Lanka.

As higher education increasingly becomes global, interconnected, and technology-driven, this partnership remains a testament to RIC’s commitment to providing students with access to world-class opportunities and preparing them for success in an increasingly competitive international landscape.
