Riveen Ferdinando, a student of BSc Economics and Finance, recently had the opportunity to spend a few weeks in London attending the LSE Summer School. His chosen courses focused on fixed income and debt markets, exploring how these areas connect to the broader macroeconomy.

Reflecting on the experience, Riveen shared:

“I had the opportunity to spend a few weeks in London at the LSE Summer School, diving into fixed income, debt markets, and how they connect to the macroeconomy. It broke things down in a way that made bond pricing, yield curves, and interest rate movements feel a lot more practical and relevant to how things actually work.

The whole experience was incredible—not just for the knowledge, but for the atmosphere. Being in London itself—walking past the financial district after lectures, meeting people from all over the world, and seeing how what we learnt plays out in the real world—made it all the more memorable.”

For Riveen, the Summer School was more than just an academic programme. It was a chance to see theory come alive, to engage with peers from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, and to immerse himself in the energy of one of the world’s leading financial hubs.
