RIC students produce world-class results in LSE degrees for yet another year
We at Royal Institute of Colombo (RIC) proudly celebrate the recipients of the Economics, Management, Finance, and Social Sciences (EMFSS) Academic Awards for the 2023/2024 academic year. This year, we secured an impressive 37 awards from the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), underscoring the exceptional performance of our students and the unwavering dedication of our lecturers.
We are also proud to announce an outstanding student pass rate of 87.7%, surpassing the global student average pass mark of 79.5%. This achievement highlights the academic excellence at RIC and our commitment to delivering world-class education.
Academic direction for EMFSS degrees at RIC is provided by LSE, ranked top 6 globally for Social Science and Management (QS 2024)
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) serves as the academic direction provider for the EMFSS degrees offered by the University of London at Royal Institute of Colombo. Ranked as the top university in London and sixth in the world for Social Science and Management subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, LSE is renowned for its excellence in education.
The academic direction ensures that the curriculum, assessments, and learning outcomes align with LSE’s rigorous standards, providing students with an education that reflects the same quality and depth as that offered on-campus in London
Our students continue to excel in University of London EMFSS degrees, achieving remarkable results and showcasing their academic excellence
Our students who completed their studies in the 2024 academic year for the University of London-awarded EMFSS degrees exhibited exemplary academic performance across various disciplines. A total of 17 students achieved remarkable success by earning First-Class honors, while 34 secured Second-Upper honors.
Highlighting the achievements among the First-Class honorees, 7 students were from the BSc Data Science and Business programme, 4 from the BSc Economics and Management programme, 2 from the BSc Accounting and Finance programme, and the rest from programmes such as BSc Business and Management, BSc Economics and Finance, and BSc Management and Digital Innovation.

Academic Achievement Awards
This award recognizes students with outstanding results in their degree or diploma programs. Recipients receive a cash prize, a certificate, and a letter from LSE in recognition of their achievements. In 2024, each recipient will be awarded £160.
