The Certificate of Higher Education in Common Law serves as a steppingstone for those awaiting their Advanced Level results and looking to commence their tertiary education in Law through the University of London’s LLB programme. Upon successful completion, students can directly enter the second year of the Bachelor of Laws programme.

Academic Direction

The law schools or departments of the following Colleges of the University of London provide the academic direction for the University of London Undergraduate Laws qualifications.

  • Obtain a minimum of 4 C passes at Ordinary Level, including English and Sinhala/Tamil, or equivalent.
  • Sit for the Advanced Level examination in any stream.
  • Pass the internal Admission Test, UoL Online Test, and interview.

  • LA1031 Legal system and method
  • LA1040 Contract law
  • LA1010 Criminal law
  • LA1020 Public law

Upon successful completion of these four core modules, students can transfer to the second year of the LLB degree programme.
