Celebrating RIC Excellence at the LSE EMFSS Summer School Reception 2025

Celebrating RIC Excellence at the LSE EMFSS Summer School Reception 2025
We are proud to announce that three outstanding second-year students from the Royal Institute of Colombo (RIC) have been awarded scholarships to attend the LSE Summer School 2025 as part of the University of London – EMFSS (Economics, Management, Finance, and the Social Sciences) programme.
The students selected for this prestigious opportunity are:
- Riveen Ferdinando – BSc Economics and Finance
- Vinma Nemdini Wettasinghe – BSc Data Science and Business Analytics
- Dinali Sehansa Jayasinghe – BSc Mathematics and Economics
Each student will have the opportunity to select one course of their choice and immerse themselves in the vibrant academic environment of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) during the summer of 2025. The LSE Summer School offers an enriching academic and cultural experience, bringing together students from across the globe.
As part of the recognition, RIC students were invited to attend the EMFSS Summer School Reception, held at LSE last week. It was a proud and celebratory occasion where scholarship certificates were formally presented by leading academics, including Dr. Francesco Nava, Dr. James Abdey, Dr. Marcia Schafgans, and Professor Peter Trubowitz, Academic Director of LSE Summer School.
The reception served as a space for students from across EMFSS institutions to connect, reflect on their academic journeys, and prepare for the global experiences ahead. RIC’s presence at this event highlights the institute’s commitment to academic excellence and international opportunity.
Through the EMFSS programme, RIC students benefit from an LSE-designed curriculum while studying locally. Opportunities such as the LSE Summer School scholarship allow our students to further enrich their learning, broaden their networks, and engage with world-class education in person.
We congratulate Riveen, Vinma, and Dinali on this incredible achievement and look forward to seeing them continue to thrive at RIC!
